Semiconductor shipments

US consumer confidence continued to slide in January reflecting the economic slowdown. The decline in US new orders of electronic products shows that manufacturers continue to struggle due to the recession. Decreasing orders has led to a slowdown in production. PCB (printed circuit board) and semiconductor shipments also declined further in January.

Similarly EMS (electronics manufacturing services) shipments are no longer immune to the current global recession. EMS shipments were down this month, affected by the overall slowdown in the economy. Pcb-chinaSupply chain sales are expected to contract in the coming months, driven by the decrease in end-product orders.
